Sorry I haven't blogged in quite a while!! We have been very busy lately, but not much has been "blog-worthy"... just life!! We have lots of exciting things coming up, that I'm sure will make it here!! Such as.... a NEW JOB!!!! =) (I'll post more about that later - my first day is July 12th, which by the way I am SO EXCITED), vacations, etc!!

I'M IN LOVE...

... with my dog as a puppy!!!

When we got Jack he was 2 years old. And as I mentioned before, we sort of like him. We've always thought that he was the cutest dog ever, but LET ME TELL YOU, he was the cutest puppy EVER!!

Well, luckily, the sweet girl who loved him before us found my blog!!! So she was kind enough to send us a couple of pictures from when he was a puppy! OH MY GOSH, they will just melt your heart!!!

*NOTE: Hopefully one day I will have more interesting things to blog about. But, for now, this is our life, and our animals are a BIG part of it. =) *

You've met Lexie, Now meet Jack =)

Jack is our first child =) He's the cutest, most loving, adorable, sweet, cuddly, affectionate, smart (I could go on and on...) dog in the world... so what if I'm partial?!?! He's a 4-year-old Golden Retriever/Chow mix, and I couldn't imagine our life with out him!! We got him when he was 2 years old, and I never thought I could love an animal as much as I love him!!!


He loves to cuddle, and he sleeps in bed with us every night, until he gets hot, then he gets down! He loves to be shown attention, and to be petted, and all is right in his little world as long as you have at least one hand on him!!

Easter Weekend

I had a WONDERFUL Easter Weekend!!

The weather was absolutely perfect!!!

Friday started off questionable.... My allergies were KILLING me =( So I pretty much slept for most of the evening. I had to rest up for my tennis match on Saturday - which I WON!!!

Hubby's step-brother and his family were in town from Birmingham for the weekend, so it was nice to spend time with them! They have the cutest little boys!!!

Saturday afternoon we just grilled out, colored easter eggs, and spent lots of time with family!! Then we had to head home so that I could get everything ready for Easter dinner. I procrastinated, and hadn't prepared anything!! Oh well, with some help, I got all the food done!!

Sunday we tried a new church (which I loved!!) and got to celebrate Jesus' resurrection, and then headed over to the in-laws for LOTS AND LOTS of yummy food!! It was a perfect weekend, and ended too soon!!

Birthday Weekend

I had a great birthday weekend!! It seems as if we did nothing but eat ALL weekend! But it was fantastic!!!

Hubby gave me my birthday present a week ago!! He got my the cutest pink Prince tennis bag!! I LOVE it!! He gave it to me so I could use it at my first match.. the one I lost =(

Friday night we had some friends over, and grilled ribs and cooked yummy food and just hung out and watched basketball! I have some great friends, who gave me LOTS of great stuff!!!

Saturday we went to watch my brother's first baseball game! He did SO GOOD! They ended up losing, but I am still so proud of them. He's pitching, and is awesome at it!! After that, we went to Red Lobster with my family and ate more yummy food!! And then we just went back to my mom's to hang out for a little while! It was a great day, and the weather was perfect!!! My mom gave me 2 gorgeous dresses that I LOVE!!!

Sunday (my actual Birthday) I had a tennis match! I wanted to win so badly on my birthday, and hubby even said "I KNOW you're going to win!!!" - how encouraging =)..... well I did win!! Who cares if it was by defualt!??!? (one of my opponents didn't show up, so they had to forfeit, and I automatically won) But the weather was absolutely crazy!! Our refreshment table was a big mess... plates and cups and chips flying EVERYWHERE!! It was like hurricane strength winds- ha!! But all the other lines got to play and got their matches in before the rain started! At least we didn't have to reschedule!! I seriously sat there and ate the entire time watching the other girls play... carrots... pineapple... strawberries... cupcakes... yummm....

Then after the match we went back to Hubby's parents house, and they grilled steak and had yummy salad and potatoes to go with it! MIL even fixed me a yummy chocolate pecan pie!! Mmmmm..... =) And they gave me the cutest Vera Bradley bag EVER!!!

It was my favorite birthday yet, and I can't wait to see what this next year holds for me =)

"Disastrous" Weekend

Well our weekend wasn't as uneventful as we had "planned". We had some disasters, but definitely some good times also!!


It started with the disaster!! I came hom from work Friday thinking that our house was on fire! Actually when I walked in the door, it smelled like hubby had just blew out a candle. Yes, I'm aware that he wouldn't be sitting home alone burning candles and then blowing them out. I don't know why I didn't think any thing of it?!


So I went to the living room to talk to hubby for about 10 minutes, and then we got up to start figuring out what to do for dinner. So we walk in to the kitchen, and it's FULL OF SMOKE!!!!! My knees literally gave out and I think I may have had a slight (major) heart attack!!! I made the dogs go out side (in the middle of a torrential down-pour) and started considering what to grab and make a run for it!! The first thing I thought of was "OH NO!! Did I turn off my hair straightener this morning?!?!?" I always turn it off... I just started doubting my self!! (At this point I knew that our house was about to go down in flames!)


Well, hubby went upstairs to see if that's where the "fire" was coming from, and lucky for me, I didn't leave it on!! Well long story short, it wasn't AS BIG OF A DEAL as it seemed at first. Apparently the motor in the dishwasher burned out. Causing THAT MUCH SMOKE!!! We were feeling all through the walls to see if we had a fire in there... it was bad!!


So hubby had to take out the dishwasher to make sure there wasn't anything major going on behind it. That was an ordeal in itself. We figured out that our counters lean a little bit to the right, and it was not easy to pull that thing out. And, we're convinced that the dishwasher was put in the house when it was built (in 1989.)


THEN..... hubby broke off the water pipe, and water started spraying EVVVEEEERRYYYYWHEEERREE!!! All I could do was laugh... sorry =(. My heart had been on a rollercoaster, and I didn't know what to do anymore. So anyways... yes... hubby in all of his work clothes... gets sprayed with hot water!! Gallons of water were sprayed into my kitchen!!! That was fun to clean up...


And with 2 dogs running around.... just close your eyes and picture this DISASTER!!


So after visiting 5 different stores, over the weekend, to do some pricing, we went to a different store last night, and bought a dishwasher. By the way, dishwashers are expensive!! But we feel like we got a good deal, and, the state of Georgia is doing rebates on all energy-star certified products.. .so that helps too.


But of course, we can't just install the new dishwasher and go on our merry way.... oh no... some piece doesn't fit in to some other piece (obviously I was not the one trying to install this new dishwasher). So we have to take the installation kit back to the place we bought it from, and then see if they'll exchange it, or go to Home Depot or something and try and buy the stuff we need ourselves. I just want a working dishwasher instead of a hole in my kitchen!! Is that too much to ask?!!?


On a brighter note, we went and had lunch with my favorite girls (and our hubbies, of course!) on Saturday!

And then Sunday evening around 8:00, precisely, the heavens parted, and our dogs miraculously decided they liked each other!! It was the weirdest thing!! They went from growling at each other and biting (Jack actually drew blood from Lexie's lip) to playing like crazy!! They are literally running circles in our house. They are having so much fun! See, this is the reason we wanted another dog... Jack needed a friend. Although, we had our doubts for about 5 days if he would quit being a bully or not!! I'm excited they are BFF now!!

Busy Weekend Ahead!!

Just kidding....

we actually have a very low-key weekend ahead of us!! I love weekends like this, where we can just lounge around all day and do nothing!! It usually never works out that way, but as of right now, that's the goal!

We'll actually (probably) be spending the weekend referee-ing 2 dogs. Can't we all just get along?!?!?!

Sunday, I have my FIRST tennis match; well 2nd, if you consider the one I played in 2 years ago so my mother-in-laws team didn't have to forfeit. Apparently it's better to lose (which I did) than to forfeit.

I decided to join MIL's team this season...I've played alot lately (well like 3 times...) but only had one OFFICIAL practice- in my ENTIRE LIFE (and the coach was yelling at ME the entire time because of all the things I was doing wrong)!! So now I have to play in a real match, where I'm on the roster. OH NO!! I'm sure I'll be a nervous wreck come Sunday morning!

Maybe the other team will be short a player or two, and they'll have to forfeit?!?!

AAHHH I am NOT hand-eye coordinated!!

Oh well, I guess the point of being on the team is playing real matches against other real teams, maybe once this first match is over, I'll feel a little bit better?!!

OH YEAH! And I get to see a precious little girl on Saturday =) Can't wait!!

We must be crazy!!

We officially have THREE animals in our house; 2 dogs and a precious kitty!!

We love animals, and are definitely suckers for a cute face and a playful personality!!

Here is the newest addition to our family:

Meet Lexie =)

She's such a little sweet heart, and we already love her after only one night! She's definitely clinging to me already, and tries to "protect" me from Jack. (I'll introduce you to Jack and Bailey later)

Lexie is a 10-month old golden retriever. We aren't sure if she's full blooded-we really don't think so-but she looks alot like Jack. She does have a shepherd nose though. We found her on craigslist.com, and the previous owners couldn't keep her because their children were very allergic to her. So we got her!!

Last night, and probably tonight, she slept in her crate. We are firm believers that after a few accidents, and maybe a little trust, that dogs shouldn't be crated after they are potty trained. So we're hoping that by the weekend, we'll work with her see how well she does! She might be roaming the house with the rest of the clan soon!

Right now Lexie and Jack are not the best of friends, but it will just take time! She's already bigger than Jack, and that doesn't help poor little Jack's self esteem.
